      In a move that may signal the end of Roger Clemens’ annual retirement tradition, the Rocket reportedly began talks with the Houston Astros last Wednesday about rejoining their organization as a pitching consultant. Even if Clemens decides against consulting for the Astros, I know the 45-year old still has a lot to offer.

      It is not uncommon for fans to vehemently disagree with the commissioner’s office in baseball, particularly Selig’s administration, but the five-game suspension of Clemens for the events in the Blue Jays / Yankees series takes the cake.

       

      The Blue Jays clearly had an axe to grind with Alex Rodriguez, after he had startled the Jays’ fielders by yelling while approaching third with a infield fly ball in the air earlier this year, causing the ball to drop to the ground.
