The Sports Randomizer

-Tim Couch used steroids and HGH? How could anyone use not one, but TWO performance enhancers and still be THAT bad?

-Drew Henson was released by the Minnesota Vikings on Monday. It's interesting how fast highly touted two-sport athletes can become zero-sport athletes.

-Mike Mussina has been pulled from the Yankees rotation, at least for one game. It would be utterly shocking to see him again this season, even with the supremely erratic Yankees pitching staff.

-Barry Bonds' record tying and breaking home run balls are now up for online auction. Not surprisingly, there are no bids at the time of this writing, with the minimum bid being $100,000 for #756. It seems highly doubtful there will be a bid of that amount, considering the last time a record breaking home run ball hit by the same player sold at auction, it went for $16,000.

-Sandra Kobrin asserts on her blog that the NFL is ridiculous for being so harsh on Vick for dogfighting while being so soft for so many years with players who commit domestic abuse. And you know what? She's absolutely right.

Vick did a lot more than beat dogs, he sadistically tortured and killed them. A wife/girlfriend has means to get away from an abusive man. The dogs didn't. I'm not saying Sandra Kobrin does not have a valid point, but lets not gloss over what Vick actually did.
