Rex Grossman Most Thrilling QB Alive
Rex Grossman is the most exciting player to watch in sports, ever. Unless you are a Bears fan, of course If you don't care whether the Bears win or lose, however, watching Grossman is thrilling. It's like watching the ultimate exercise in futility. How will he mess up next? How ridiculously ill-conceived, rushed and horribly thrown will his next interception be? How many snaps will he take before he fumbles? How does he continue to pull off such utter futility consistently and retain a starting job in the NFL?
It's like watching the best reality show ever, with more real-life drama than any reality show could hope to have. It's like a real "Surreal Life," instead of a bunch of pathetic losers in one place, it's one loser and everyone else is great. Sadly, the trainwreck pulled out of the station heading for offseason land after the Super Bowl last year, and couldn't really be seen against the pathetic Texans, because they make everyone look good, but it is officially back and in action in it's full train-wreck glory in the preseason game Monday night against the Colts.
The return of Grossman was marked by three fumbles, one interception and a sack in only 26 plays from scrimmage. That's a mighty impressive pile of failure right there. It seems like anyone in the NFL would really have to try to mess up that badly in a preseason game. Maybe someday Rex really will turn into the awesome Favre-type quarterback that his supporters say he will, and maybe he won't. He seems like a nice-enough guy, so hopefully he does. But for now, it's awfully fun to watch the train wreck.
