McNabb Plays Game, Doesn't Get Injured
Donovan "the man with one knee" McNabb looked surprisingly good in his return to the field in the Eagle's preseason game against the Panthers yesterday, completing 6-of-9 passes for 138 yards and most importantly, got sacked and got back up. Fantasy football speculators are undoubtedly already moving the fragile Quarterback up their draft boards after the performance. Meanwhile, fans in Philly will be happy about it for about eight seconds, then will start screaming to re-sign Jeff Garcia (oh, you Philly fans... are you ever happy?)
All kidding aside, this does look hopeful for McNabb and also looks hopeful for those who love to watch good Quarterback play, as McNabb is one of the most fun QBs in the league to watch in my opinion. Watching the first half of his MVP caliber season last year was amazing, watching him blow out his knee on a very routine manner was not (unless you are a Giants fan, I suppose.)
This is probably going to be the highlight, along with Carson Palmer's sharp play two years removed from his knee surgery, of a typically lackluster and meaningless NFL preseason. After all, the only real reason to watch NFL preseason is to see how rehabbing players are coming along, as well as keeping an eye on rookies.
